To enhance students’ effective communication and swallowing abilities, speech therapists have assessed all students at the beginning of the semester and set tailored treatment goals for them. Collaborating closely with language arts teachers, students learn skills such as public speaking, interviewing, drama, and discussions. Speech therapists invite individual parents to school to better understand students’ behaviors at home and to update parents on the students’ progress in therapy.

The nursing team’s annual activities include dental care, health check-ups, and various vaccination programs. The nursing team closely coordinates with nurses responsible for complex medical cases to provide appropriate care for students with complex medical needs and to offer workshops and lectures for staff regularly. They also collaborate with the general services team to prepare for outsourcing lunch vendors for the following year. Encouraging parents to participate in the “Electronic Health Record Sharing System” system helps the school’s relevant departments, such as the therapy department, better understand students’ health conditions for treatment and support planning.

The social work team assists students in building positive interpersonal relationships, adapting to school group life, gaining joyful learning experiences, and preparing for future social integration. By working hand in hand with parents to create a nurturing environment for children to grow, the social work team organizes various activities. Establishing partnerships between parents and staff members to benefit students, these activities create beautiful parent-child moments for families. Through parental involvement, the social work team can more effectively support students’ individual needs and foster a supportive campus atmosphere, implementing concrete practices of home-school cooperation.

When designing students’ educational plans, educational psychologists provide information on students’ learning and psychological assessments, suitable teaching strategies, resources, or referrals, and assist teachers, relevant professionals, and parents in implementing educational plans to enhance the teaching process and ensure students benefit from education. Additionally, educational psychologists review the design, implementation, and effectiveness of our school’s educational plans to improve teaching and learning outcomes.

Our school offers after-school interest classes to improve students’ coordination and provides therapy and counseling services for boarders after school.

Our school has hired a part-time physical therapist to provide treatment for students in need. The physical therapy department has acquired a range of rehabilitation equipment through various funds. Through different physical training programs, they improve students’ physical fitness. Physical therapy training includes muscle coordination, throwing and catching skills, improving sitting and standing balance, posture, muscle strength training, among others. During the training process, students interact with the physical therapist to establish a cooperative and trusting relationship. Additionally, the physical therapist provides occupational safety and caregiving skills training for colleagues to optimize their care for students.
